What’s on Offer
Meals are freshly prepared and follow the Scottish Government’s school food standards.
The menu changes throughout the year, offering a variety of favourites such as macaroni cheese, fish and chips, chicken korma, soups, and home baking.
Ingredients are locally sourced where possible, with Highland eggs, UK Red Tractor chicken, and seasonal fruit and vegetables often included.
Menus are reviewed and updated annually (after Easter each year) to reflect feedback from pupils and staff.
How to Pay
The canteen operates a cashless system.
Money can be added to a pupil’s account online through the Highland Council payment system.
It may take up to 24 hours for online payments to show in the balance.
Pupils can also top up in school using the revaluation machine, which accepts coins and notes, and can be used to check balances
Special Diets
If your child has specific dietary requirements or allergies, adjustments can be made.
Parents should complete a special diet request form via Highland Council.
Requests usually take 5–10 working days to process. Until approved, we recommend sending a packed lunch.
Prices & Free Meals
Secondary school meals are priced at approximately £2.65 per day.
Pupils in Primary 1–5 receive free school meals, and there is financial support available for eligible families in older year groups.
More details, including the current menu, are available on the Highland Council School Meals page.
