Congratulations to Daisy, Aoife, Brendan and Nathan on their appointments!
Being a school leader is about much more than having a title. Every member of our S6 Pupil Leadership Team will have an area of responsibility to lead throughout the year.
Our team will be involved in a wide range of areas, including:
🗣️ Pupil Voice
🏠 House Captains
💰 Fundraising
🎉 School events and the S6 Social
📱 Social media and communications
🎓 Leavers' activities
📖 Yearbook and S6 memories
💡 New ideas and pupil-led projects
More information about the individual responsibilities within the team will be added throughout the year.
This year's selection process was extremely competitive, with 10 S6 pupils applying for the Head Girl and Head Boy positions.
Candidates were assessed across four areas:
Application
Interview
Staff vote
Pupil vote
We were delighted to welcome Councillors Richard Gale and John Murray, alongside former Head Teacher and Depute Chief Invigilator Judith MacLeod, to join our interview panel.
The panel were extremely impressed by the standard of all the candidates and spoke very highly of how well every pupil performed in their interviews.
A huge thank you also goes to our staff and pupils who took the time to vote and play a part in the selection process.
Although only four pupils could take on the Head Pupil positions, every S6 pupil has an important part to play in our leadership team.
Our Head Pupils will work alongside the wider S6 Pupil Leadership Team to listen to pupils, develop ideas, organise events and help make positive changes within our school.
We want our S6 leaders to work together as a team, supporting one another and making sure that the views and ideas of pupils across the school are represented.
Leadership isn't just about being at the front - it's about listening, supporting others, taking responsibility and making things happen.
We are incredibly proud of all our S6 pupils who have stepped forward to take on leadership responsibilities and we are excited to see the positive impact they will make at Golspie High School throughout the year.
Throughout the year, we will share updates about the projects, events and initiatives being led by our S6 Pupil Leadership Team. From fundraising and school events to pupil voice and our plans for leaving a lasting legacy, there is lots to look forward to!
We can't wait to see what our S6 leaders achieve this year!
